Review: The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd
Title: The Madman's Daughter
Author: Megan Shepherd
About: The story is based in London in 1894 and it's about a girl named Juliet who works as a maid after a family scandal, involving her father, ruined her life. She learns that her father is still alive ad she sets out to find him to learn the truth about the scandal and all it's rumours. She finds the island o which her father is living and it is not the happy ending she was looking for but chaotic and horrific. She tries to escape the island and all that is on it but not before she finds out the true extent of her father's genius and madness that is running through her own blood.
What I loved about it: Overall - EVERYTHING! haha
in particular - the style of the writing. How the genre is kind of mystery mixed with a bit of horror with some romance thrown in for good measure. The book kept me gripped from the very first page right up until the very last page and left me wanting more. The book was unpredictable and had lots of unexpected twists at every page turn.
Rating: I give this book 5 out of 5 stars as the book couldn't have been better.
Extra note: This book is the first in a trilogy, the second book, her dark curiosity, is available now and the third and final book, a cold legacy, is expected to be published on January 27th 2015.
